It is undisputable that year 2020 is an unforgettable year, due to the coronavirus pandemic that engulfed the world, leading to the death of over one million people across the world, while over fifty million people were infected. It is noteworthy that different research firms and health organisations across the world have been working tirelessly, to develop a vaccine to prevent the virus from causing more mortality across the world.
And recently, a pharmaceutical firm Pfizer partnered with another key player in vaccine research, BioNtech, and they were able to make a breakthrough, by sucessfully developing a vaccine that could prevent 90% of population from getting infected, and they've stipulated that 50 million units will be rolled out before the end of 2020, and 1.3 billion units by end of 2021. Thus there's hope the human population will soon be rid of the deadly coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the president of Nigeria Muhammad Buhari had reportedly received the first sucessful covid-19 vaccine in to Nigeria, and described it as a major milestone in medical research. Hereby calling for equitable access and distribution of the vaccine across the world so as to protect humanity and ensure safe running of societies again.
Therefore, there is hope we will get through this coronavirus pandemic soon.
